. 1 Answer SOURCE: There are many ways to do so. Each of which is progressively more expensive. All of these plug into the Ip bus plug in the rear of the unit. Most of these can be found on Ebay or Amazon 1: An IP bus to RCA plug then you need a RCA to 3.5mm plug wire. (note this is a lower quality) $10-$30 2: An ip bus to Ipod connect plug. (Better sound quality, charges Ipod, does not allow Ipod control from the Head unit, only from the Ipod) around $15-$30 3: An ip bus to Ipod Connectivity unit (same quality as #2 but allows for Ipod control from Head unit) $100+ Most of these can be found on Ebay or Amazon Posted on Mar 24, 2009.
An e-mosfet is and 'enhancement' mosfet. A d-mosfet is a 'depletion' mosfet. These essentially show what mode the mosfet operates in when a voltage is applied to the gate.

An enhancement mode mosfet is normally non-conducting but conducts when the channel is enhanced by applying a voltage to t he gate and pulling carriers into the channel. A depletion mode mosfet normally conducts but becomes more and more non-conducting as carriers are depleted or pulled out of the channel by applying a voltage. The polarity of the voltage depends on whether it is an N channel or P channel. P channel uses positively doped silicon while N channel uses negatively doped silicon. N channel fets are used wherever possible because N material conducts better than P material. There are basically two types of fet, the jfet and the mosfet.
The jfet uses a single junction to control the channel hence draws some current. Bipolar transistors use two junctions. In the mosfet ( M etal O xide S emiconducting F ield E ffect T ransistor) there is no such junction hence draw so little current for control purposes it can be regarded as zero. The gate is isolated from the channel by a very thin layer of metal oxide (usually chromium dioxide). An enhacement mode mosfet can be turned on by applying a voltage then removing the wire to the gate.

The channel will then remain conducting for some time. NThe basic difference is between JFET and enhanced MOSFET,although the construction of JFET and depletion MOSFET is different but their most of the characteridtics are same,i.e shockly equation can be applied on both of them, but in JFET we cant give to gate voltage, the +ve value, because it do es not works, but in depletion we can give, but some limited +ve value. NNow enhanced MOSFET is different, shockly equation cant be applied. The transfer characteristics are purely in +ve Vg region. I.e for E-MOSFET Vg should be 0,for its proper function. Before applying any power, you can use a multimeter to check the conductivity between the different leads. First, using the resistance setting, check that there is a large impedance (100's of kiloOhms - MegaOhms) between the source (S) and gate (G) terminals; and the G and drain (D) terminals.
If the multimeter measures in the 100's of Ohms or less, then the gate oxide has been damaged and the device is burnt out. When I've destroyed MOSFETs, I've measured 3 Ohms between G-S. Next check the channel conduction using the diode setting.
A forward voltage drop should be measured when the positive lead (red) touches the source, and negative lead (black) touches the drain. This is the antiparallel diode intrinsic to the MOSFET. The measured drop should correspond to the low current value of the diode forward voltage indicated on the datasheet. When the leads are reversed and negative touches S, and positive touches D, the device should be an open circuit.
If any forward voltage is measured from D-S, the device is damaged.
